You'll be hard pressed to find many places with as much history and ambiance as the tavern. With head chef Keith back at the helm, the new menu doesn't disappoint. It's the perfect blend of rustic and elegance. (The in-house smoked rack of lamb is a prime example.)

You really can't go wrong here. It's such a cool place. The history alone is worth the drive to the village of Hanoverton, but the food, the great wait staff, and the decor is something to be impressed with. Don't forget to head down to the Rathskeller (basement bar) for a nightcap!

Omg! I came here for work in Carrollton. I was trying to sleep when apparently the owner wanted to come after hours and smoke with buddies which happened to be outside my room. I knocked and yelled since I have to be up at 245am. They didnt budge. I had to go to the front desk and complain in my nightgown and demand another room and then fully move at 1030pm. How horrible and disrespectful of an owner of a customer.

This venue is so unique and historic (and....surprise....it's haunted!) and I love everything about it.  The food was exceptionally delicious.

My dining companion and I shared the charcuterie plate and we each had a bowl of the french onion soup. I had the elk (every bite was just mouth wateringly good) and he had the pork chop. Tender and flavorful. I was a little sad to skip dessert, but we really were just too full.

I cannot wait to make a trip back here! We also walked around throughout the rest of the venue to look at the various dining rooms and the inn. You can feel history breathing and alive here. You really get the pulse of another era. It's like stepping back in time a couple centuries. I would love to come stay here one day.

The portions are small & prices are high.
I didn't feel this restaurant had the charm to carry their prices.

Expect nothing like the menu portrays.
Bait & Switch describes this place to a tee.

Not sure what happened to this Restaurant we used to love to go there frequently and always loved the food and service but lately the quality of there steaks has gone down dramatically and now even the service is terrible.  We had reservations for our anniversary and finally walked out after waiting 15 min on the waitress.   It's a real shame that another wonderful restaurant is going down hill.
